Paternity Tests
At dadcheck®silver we conduct scientific personal information DNA paternity tests to determine if a tested male is the true biological father of a child or children.
Every one of us is unique. This uniqueness comes from our genetic code, which we have inherited equally from our biological mother and biological father. The dadcheck®silver paternity test detects the presence of shared regions of this unique genetic code within 23 markers (for more information see our FAQs), which can in turn be used to determine if individuals are related.
This produces extremely accurate results which will either exclude the man from paternity with 100% certainty or will indicate a paternal relationship with a very high level of confidence - usually in excess of 99.99%.
Your order may be placed swiftly online or by telephone with one of our experienced customer service advisors who will be happy to assist with any questions you may have.
Once your order is placed, bespoke sampling kits will be sent to the addresses of your choice as requested on your order form. A simple mouth swab is used to collect a DNA sample from the alleged father and child. Whilst the mother need not participate (notwithstanding any consent required for the child - see our FAQs), we strongly advise that she does so in order to obtain the most conclusive test result.
We provide a pre-paid tamper-proof envelope for you to easily return your samples to our laboratory for analysis.
The day we receive all properly consented samples is Day 0. Depending on which service you have requested, your results will be available on the 4th working day for our standard service or the 2nd working day for our express service – this is usually after 4 pm.
Your results will be uploaded as a .pdf onto our secure website and you may access this with password created when ordering. A postal copy of the report will also be issued to all test participants over the age of 16 years as well as the person who signs the consent form on behalf of any child under 16 years.
Relationship DNA testing can be a life-changing event and we would recommend that before ordering a test you think carefully about the potential outcomes and have considered if testing will be in the best interests of those involved.
Please note that this at-home test is for personal information only - this means that the results will not be accepted in UK courts by the Child Maintenance Service or any other legal body. If you require the DNA test for a legal purpose, please choose from one of our services listed as tests for legal purposes, immigration purposes or surrogacy purposes.
